to low income homeowners to improve the energy efficiency of their
homes thus reducing their utility costs.

Community Housing Development Organizations

by House
MFA has allocated a portion of the HOME funds administered by MFA
for a home owner House by House Program. This program provides funding
for the rehabilitation of homes occupied by eligible low-income homeowners
on a one house at a time basis. Funds are available on a first-come
first-serv basis. More information on the process is contained in
the NOFA.
Housing
Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA)
Services will include tenant based rental assistance available to
participants on an as-needed basis to achieve stability, Emergency
grants of up to $350 to assist participants with moving expenses,
security deposits, locks or minor home repairs or to stabilize after
a crisis, and motel vouchers to assist participants and their families
who must travel long distances to HIV/AIDS specialty clinics.
Tenant Based
Rental Assistance (TBRA)
One time cash assistance to tenants for security deposits, utility
deposits (when granted in conjunction with security deposits and/or
rental assistance) and up to three (3) months rent, to allow low-income
tenants to secure permanent or transitional housing. Assistance is
provided through non-profits, units of local government, and housing
authorities.
