Dennis Burt is the founder of Burt & Company CPAs, LLC, a full-service accounting firm that has been in operation for 21 years. Mr. Burt has more than 30 years of public accounting experience and has provided consulting services for a broad array of retailers, manufactures and service organizations. He has served as an expert accounting witness and was appointed as a Special Master in accounting and tax matters and is a member of the New Mexico Estate Planning Council. Mr. Burt holds an MBA in Business Management from Eastern New Mexico University and a BBA in Accounting from the University of New Mexico. He has been a licensed CPA in New Mexico since 1974 and a licensed Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) since 2000.

Angel Reyes has been the president of Centinel Bank of Taos since 2003. Prior to that time, he was  the bank’s chief financial officer for five years. Born and raised in Taos, Mr. Reyes graduated from the New Mexico Military Institute as the ranking cadet. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of New Mexico’s Anderson’s Schools of Management and received his graduate degree from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado.  Mr. Reyes has served as a board member of the New Mexico Bankers Association and chair of the Taos Community Foundation.

A native New Mexican, Lewis first served as New Mexico state treasurer when he was appointed to the position in 1985 by then governor Toney Anaya and subsequently elected to a four-year term from 1987-90. He has served with federal, state, county and city agencies during his distinguished career in government and finance, most recently as the chief administrative officer for the City of Albuquerque. Previous positions include serving as director/assistant secretary of the U.S. department of energy, chief of staff to Governor Bruce King and director of the oil, gas and mineral division of the New Mexico Commission of Public Lands. An Army veteran, Mr. Lewis also holds undergraduate degrees in education and business administration and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of New Mexico.

John Sanchez was born and raised in Albuquerque and can trace his public service roots to his great-great grandfather who was a territorial legislator from San Miguel County in 1860. Sanchez was elected to the office of Councilman for the Village of Los Ranchos, NM in 1997 and served in the New Mexico House of Representatives from 2000 to 2002. In 2005, he was recognized as one of the top 40 Most Influential Hispanics in the country. Mr. Sanchez has diverse business interests and has maintained a New Mexico real estate license for over 20 years. He and his wife, Debra, own and operate a business that has twice been named Small Business of the Year. The company, which Mr. Sanchez began, has operated continuously for more than 28 years, employs 25, has sales totaling almost $100 million and has completed almost 30,000 contracts.

An attorney, scientist and businessman, King also served as a state legislator for 12 years where he chaired the Consumer and Public Affairs Committee. King is likely the only current Attorney General in the nation with a Ph.D. in organic chemistry. Mr. King has also served as a policy advisor at the U.S. Department of Energy as well the department’s Director of the Office of Worker and Community Transition. He also served as Chairman of the New Mexico Mining Commission and continues to serve on the Environmental Advisory Board to the Federal Aviation Administration. Mr. King holds a Bachelor of Science from New Mexico State University; a JD from the University of New Mexico and a Ph.D. from Colorado University.

Sharron Welsh is the founder and Executive Director of The Housing Trust in Santa Fe. The Trust created and capitalized more than $25 million to fund loans for home purchase and to finance housing construction, acquisition and rehabilitation. Ms. Welsh has worked for more than three decades to improve housing options for lower income people. During her career, Ms. Welsh has been involved in the production or finance of more than 25,000 affordable housing units. Ms. Welsh graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She also has a Masters in Public Administration. She is a former member of the Affordable Housing Advisory Council of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, and played a key role in creating the Santa Fe Affordable Housing Roundtable, network of nonprofit housing providers.
