A host of elected officials and VIPs attended the long-awaited opening of The Imperial Building at the end of August. The Imperial Building is a four-story structure with underground parking that has 74 residential units, a grocery store, two restaurants and retail space. MFA provided more than $12 million in Low Income Housing Tax Credits and other funding to the $17.4 million project. Jay Czar, executive director of MFA in the center of the photo, calls the Imperial Building a "game changer" for Downtown Albuquerque.
CUATRO, a senior apartment community in Downtown Albuquerque, officially opened recently. Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership was the developer, and Monarch Properties will manage the property. MFA provided more than $10 million in tax credits to the $12.9 million project. CUATRO will be home to 56 seniors or individuals with special needs with incomes between 30 and 60 percent of the area median income.
